Gyomei Himejima is a major supporting character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a Demon Slayer in the Demon Slayer Corps and the current Stone Pillar. Gyomei is also the mentor of Genya Shinazugawa.

Gyomei embodies the gentle giant archetype, being surprisingly kind and sensitive despite his intimidating appearance. He is also deeply devout, always carrying his prayer beads and offering prayers in poignant moments.

Stone Breathing, used by Gyomei, is one of the five main Breathing Styles directly derived from Sun Breathing. This style was originally created by one of Yoriichi Tsugikuni‘s students who attempted to learn Sun Breathing. Since the student wasnt as gifted as Yoriichi, he instead taught them a customized style focused on their strengths and weaknesses, which became Stone Breathing.
