Ichigo Kurosaki is a Human with the rare ability to see ghosts. His life changed when he met Rukia Kuchiki, who gave him her Shinigami powers to save his family from a Hollow.
After these events, Ichigo faced many trials he had to overcome, each time growing stronger and pushing himself to the limit, often at the brink of death. As a result, he mastered a Bankai called Tensa Zangetsu, which concentrates his power into a smaller katana and allows him to move at incredible speed.
Ichigo is one of the only beings in the anime who possesses the powers of a Shinigami, a Hollow, a Human, and a Quincy due to his tragic origins. Because of this, he is one of the potential candidates for the title of Spirit King.
