Marshall D. Teach, better known as Blackbeard, is the captain of the Blackbeard Crew and is currently one of the Four Emperors of the Grand Line seas.

Teach was a former member of the second division of the Whitebeard Crew led by Portgas D. Ace. He left this crew after killing Thatch, one of his companions, to seize the Yami Yami no Mi.

He has eaten the Yami Yami no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit. This fruit allows him to become and control darkness, absorbing anything the user desires. It is a very powerful fruit that can nullify the powers of another Devil Fruit, much like Sea Stone.

However, his powers do not stop there; he became the only known person to have eaten 2 Devil Fruits after stealing the Gura Gura no Mi from Whitebeard.

Blackbeard’s dream is to become the King of the World, and he seems to have a well-defined plan to achieve this.
