Tony Tony Chopper is a reindeer who ate the Hito Hito no Mi, allowing him to transform into a human. He is from Drum Island, making him the first member of the Straw Hat crew born in the Grand Line. He is the fifth to join the Mugiwaras.

Chopper is the ship’s doctor for the Straw Hat crew. His goal is to discover a cure for all diseases.

Trained by Doctor Hiluluk and then by Doctor Kureha on Drum Island, he has extensive knowledge in medicine and in preparing various remedies and medications. Drum was renowned for having the best doctors in the world.

Tony Tony Chopper has the powers of the Zoan Hito Hito no Mi, or Human-Human Fruit. This fruit allows him to transform into a human or a hybrid reindeer-human. It enables him to undergo several hybrid or monstrous transformations.

After consuming three Rumble Balls in less than 6 hours, Chopper becomes gigantic and loses consciousness of his actions. He transforms into a multi-meter tall monster with immense power. During the two-year time skip, it is revealed that Chopper can control this transformation and only needs one Rumble Ball to access it; however, after using it, he becomes incapacitated for several hours.

Considered the mascot of the Straw Hat crew by the Marines, his bounty is only 1,000 Berries.
