Conan Edogawa is the name used by Shinichi Kudo in his shrunken form. Shinichi took on the appearance of his 7-year-old self after being exposed to a prototype poison called APTX 4869, which he was forced to take by two men in black, who turn out to be members of the Black Organization.
The poison shrank every part of Shinichi‘s body except his nervous system, meaning his mental abilities, memories, and personality were preserved.
Conan‘s ultimate goal is to find the Organization, make them pay for their crimes, and find an antidote for APTX 4869. Thats why, during the series, he enlists the help of Kogoro Mouri, a famous detective, to find cases related to the Men in Black.
