Rintaro Okabe is the founder of the Futuristic Gadget Lab, Mem 001 Lab, as well as the main protagonist of the Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0 series. He is a self-proclaimed mad scientist, adopting the name Hououin Kyouma1. After the true nature of the Microwave Telephone was discovered, Rintaro and his friends were hunted by SERN agents, before he joined the Beta universe line by accepting the death of Kurisu Makise.

During the Third World War, he founded a resistance organization called Valkyrie. In the year 2025, he finally decides to send a D-Mail to his 2010 friend, explaining the steps to follow to open a door to the Steins Gate universe line.
