Usopp, also known as Pipo in the older editions of the Glnat anime, is a member of the Straw Hat Pirates and holds the position of Sniper. He is from Syrup Village. Although not a shipwright, he also took care of repairing the Going Merry (where he patched the holes with makeshift materials). He was later replaced by Franky when Franky and the Thousand Sunny joined the crew for the ship’s maintenance.
When he was in Syrup Village, he was the Captain of a crew and was known by the crew members as Captain Usopp. He kept this nickname, which became part of his iconic lines. He disbanded his crew when he set sail and joined the Straw Hat Pirates. He is the son of Yasopp, a member of the Red-Haired Pirates. His dream is to become a brave warrior of the sea, following in his father’s footsteps, and he believes that he will die peacefully once he has achieved this. He will then be able to say: “It’s me, Usopp!! The brave warrior of the sea!!”
