Gen is sure of himself and his abilities, being proud of his status as a magician and mentalist, as well as his knowledge of the human psyche. He is outwardly stoic, remaining calm even when threatened by a spear when he first arrives at Ishigami Village. However, this facade seems easily pierced, as evidenced by his shock when Senku asks him his name. Despite this, he proves to be extremely paranoid (albeit justifiably so), hiding several bags of blood in his clothes in case he is attacked. He has shown signs of perversion, planning to stay close to Tsukasa in order to have a harem and hit Kohaku and later Amaryllis. Anyway, Gen is rather eccentric and can often be seen speaking in Latin; his most common verbal tic when he is shocked. He tends to be self-centered and perverted although he gives off an air of gentlemanliness even when being honest about it. He also shows a reluctance to participate in the manual labor involved in Senku’s experiments
